whitearchitecture is a design focused architecture studio focusing on the collaborative nature of design as a continuous and organic conversation between the multiple disciplines that form the complex nature of contemporary construction. The process of this conversation is led by the studios two directors Simon White and Jeff Brown with their key goal being to explore solutions and facilitate informed and negotiated responses to the multifaceted questions of architecture.

Combining a playful and exploratory approach to innovation with a grounded and research focused design discipline, the practice embraces each project as an opportunity to create new experiences. The fundamentals of perception, memory and context (cultural and physical) are explored through the architectural elements of light, surface, void and form to provide highly considered and site sensitive outcomes.

The practice acknowledges that each challenge in architecture is truly unique and it is the processes of delivery that truly define the outcome. Aspects of commercial realism, site constraint, cultural sensitivity, memory and environment all equally combine through communication and dialogue to offer concise and clearly identifiable understandings of the built environment.

In particular the practice is intrigued with the quality of the urban environment and places particular focus on the role of built form in defining place, space and lifestyle. This preoccupation has resulted in the work of the practice covering various and wide-ranging programmatic and scalar realms exploring the possibilities of Architecture as a catalyst for urban change.
